Ethernet 802 | 3

Packet format that defines the data link layer of a packet for bus type networks that use Carrier Sense Multiple Access / Collision Detection (CSMA/CD). The most common bus type networks are 10Base-T, 100Base-T (Fast Ethernet), and 1000Base-T (Gigabit Ethernet) networks. The letter T at the end designates RJ-45 Category 5 cable.

Ethernet 802.3 is the standard that is used in most Ethernet cards and cables.
